LED Audio Spectrum

LED VU Meter Using AN-6884 IC

This is a simple electronics project which a LED spectrum responds to the incoming audio signal.Anyone who possess basic electronics knowledge can build this small circuit without excessive details.

 

Tools & Components

1 X AN-6884 IC

5 X Square LEDs (Any color)

2 X 10K Resistors

1 X 220Ohm Resistor

1 X 10uF Capacitor 

1 X 10K Potentiometer

Soldering Iron and Soldering Wire

Small box (to contain circuit and place LEDs)

Circuit wires

12V Power Supply

3.5mm Connector(mono)

 

Connecting Diagram

 

 

Resistor Connected to Capacitor is a 10K Ohm Resistor

Value of the Resistor connected to LED common terminal is 220Ohm 

This circuit uses single audio channel (mono)

connect the audio in and ground terminals to 3.55 connector accordingly.

 

Assembly

My LED Spectrum looked like this after assembly

I covered the whole box using a black polythene layer to avoid direct bright light which was uncomfortable. 

If the connections are properly connected Circuit should work

Try using two AN-6884 ICs for stereo LED Spectrum.
