TDA2030 Hi-Fi Audio Amplifier (14W)

This is a Simple project for building a Single Channel Audio Amplifier using a single TDA2030 IC.

Older subwoofer systems commonly used TDA2030 ICs.Even if this is a older version,a decent sound output can be obtained from this amplifier.

The TDA2030 is a monolithic integrated circuit, intended for use as a low frequency class-AB amplifier. Typically it provides 14 W output power (d = 0.5%) at 14 V/4 Ω. At ±14 V or 28 V, the guaranteed output power is 12 W on a 4 Ω load and 8 W on an 8 Ω.

Note that this is for single channel only.You can use two ICs and build a stereo amplifier.

1 X  22K Resistor

2 X 4.7K Resistor

1 X  680K Resistor

1 X  4.7K Resistor

Connecting Components

The Two Resistor Values and Capacitor Value for the TDA2030 Pin 2 is 4.7K , 4.7K & 10uF.

The Power Supply Should be capable to handle the power requirement so choose at least 2A power adapter.

Use a low pass filter as a pre-amplifier to gain a decent bass level out of the amplifier.

Note : Remember to mount a heat sink to the TDA2030. With the level of output power it will heat up and will be burned out or malfunction.

Safety First !

Always Connect the power supply if you are absolutely sure that the components are connected correctly without changing polarity and short circuited the wiring.

Even if it seems nothing is wrong : DOUBLE CHECK EVERYTHING !!
